FEATURES OF C PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE:
C is powerful as well as popular programming language because of its certain characterstics which describe as

•  C is general purpose programming language.

•  C is a structured programming language.

•  Helps in development of system software

•  Ability to extend itself by adding functions to its library

•  Very less number of reserved words.

•  Pointer airthmatic and pointer manipulation

•  Support a rich set of data types

•  It allow manipulation of internal processor registers.

•  It provide compact representation for expressions.

•  It has rich set of operators.

•  No rigid format. Any number of statements can be typed in a single line.

•  Portability: Any c program can be run on different machines with little or no modification.

All these features become c language more powerful and popular than other languages. In 1978 some shortcoming of c language are overcome by ANSI (AMDRICAN NATIONAL STANDARD INSTITUTE)  standards.
